The British cast of Wicked were
fantastic; it was good that they were using their own accents and not
faux-American. Glinda’s actress in particular shone, with a knack of making the
humorous parts even funnier (her greeting to Glinda’s shoe shrine was laugh out
loud). UK Elphaba was on point as acerbic-but-vunerable, and her first
utterance of the trademark “wicked witch cackle” caused quite a long pause
because the audience was laughing and applauding so hard. Both of them had great chemistry and perfectly captured the chalk-and-cheese friendship of the two witches.
The song ‘For
Good’ again had Amelia in tears (absolutely devastating rendition). All in all,
a far too short time in the Emerald City (wanna see it again, again *sobs* ;_;).
There are wonders like I've never seen, It's all grand, And it's all green!
