Travelling and arrival in Paris

The shuttle trip up was fine, though suffered from the perennial problem of having to detour to get nine million other people, one of whom took ages to come out!! We have finally sampled the delights of Premium Economy - so very fancy. You did seem to be continually being served drinks and even got a choice of wine, juice or water upon boarding!! The legroom was definitely much more than in Economy class. Cathay Pacific had more room of the two airlines we tried. I couldn't even reach the touch screen (though I had a remote so it was fine!). I thought the airline food was pretty yum, though I think Cathay Pacific won out there too. My faves were the Duck on Cathay and the Beef Strog on Lufthansa and Am had a pork and verges thing she really liked.  The flights were pretty uneventful and I managed to get through an entire season of a trashy "historical" drama on the Medici so that was good.  Lufthansa got bonus points for having hot towels (and they were REALLY hot) and for giving us a little filled roll thingy on the one hour European flight!

The transfers were pretty straightforward Hong Kong airport was sufficiently big that we had to catch a train to our gate, but luckily it wasn't very full. The Immigration thing was done on the flight out of Frankfurt so that meant when we arrived all we had to do was fetch our bags (all of which turned up, much to our relief) and walk out the door and across the road to catch our bus. It was actually easier than getting a shuttle and having to contact them once you got to the airport like last time we came I came to Paris. It arrived right at Disney Village which means we know where to go tomorrow!

The one really annoying thing is that neither of our telecom phones worked, luckily Amelia still had her old Vodaphone one so we could contact out air b n b lady to say we'd turned up. Note to readers, do not rely on having mobile coverage if you are with telecom and in Paris!!  Thankfully everywhere has wifi  though so we can tell people we are not dead!!

Once we turned up at our apartment we met our lovely hostess Briget. It was a little interesting as her English wasn't 100% (though still miles better than our French) . We got there in the end. The y were still cleaning from the previous guests so we dumped our stuff and headed over to the mall. We managed to get some lunch and even go to the supermarket. We didn't know it was BYO bag so luckily we only bought a few bits and pieces.

It is super warm and sunny here today, it is such a pity we are both feeling a bit zombie-like from all the travelling. I think a quiet night in might be in order.

The place we are in in just the best, it has a super pink bedroom, pink crockery and even pink loo rolls! I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone! It is just up from the RER station and the mall and is much much bigger than a hotel room at a lesser cost.

  2. 9 million people on board your shuttle is quite a lot! That's a world record I expect..

  3. It sounds as if you have made all the right choices especially where you are staying. I have never come across pink or any colour toilet paper. They must have known you were coming 😉
